During the weekend we organise excursions to our country estate in an area of unspoilt natural beauty along the Río Turón near Ardales, a picturesque town in the foothills of the Sierra de las Nieves. In this idyllic setting you can enjoy a delicious barbecue, have a swim or canoe in our own lagoon, help with the harvest of grapes, oranges or numerous other fruits, etc.
Ardales itself is worth visiting too: you seem to have travelled back in time to the beginning of the twentieth century. Cars have not yet replaced horses and donkeys completely. Some remarkable 9th-century monuments are located in the vicinity: the ruined castle Castillo de la Peña towers above the town, and in Bobastro you will find the vestiges of a unique Mozarabic church hewn into the rock.
The impressive azure lakes of the Guadalhorce river, visited by few tourists but all the more Spaniards, are definitely worth a visit. In addition, there are hiking trails for experienced or less experienced ramblers.
